Ben and I rang in the new year at Hotel Joaquin, a petite resort in Laguna Beach with chic but laid-back interiors. It’s a sister hotel to Korakia Pensione, the hotel we got married at and frequent at least 1x year. I’m an idiot and forgot to take more interior shots on my disposable camera, but trust me - the hotel is v cute.
While most spent their New Year’s Eve wearing their sparkliest dresses and getting drunk off champagne, we checked into Hotel Joaquin for a little staycation where we laid out at a nearby beach, wrote down our 2019 resolutions, drove 15 minutes for McDonald’s chicken nuggets & french fries and watched Bandersnatch on Netflix.
I also reflected back on 2018 and honestly… the year was just ok. I did learn a lot, though. I learned that you NEED to follow your instinct. I learned that what is bigger and shinier may not be the best thing for you. I learned that leaving your comfort zone is GOOD. I learned that leaving environments that are toxic and unhealthy for you is NECESSARY. I learned that even though you may have regrets, the reason for why something happened may still be coming - you just don’t know it yet. And most importantly, I learned my WORTH. That is all. Here’s to 2019. xx
